What is GreenerHerd Livestock Management?
Greener Herd is an advanced herd management application designed to help livestock farmers improve their operations. It offers tools for animal records, nutrition management, health and breeding details, group management, emission control, sales and purchase tracking, and more.It allows you to maintain detailed records of your livestock, monitor health and breeding, track feed consumption, manage veterinary visits, and analyze productivity data all in one place.
How can I download the Greener Herd application?
You can download the app from here.
Is the app available in multiple languages?
Yes, the app currently supports Arabic and English languages. You can choose your preferred language during setup or change it later in the Profile tab.
Which types of livestock does the app support?
The app supports all major livestock types including sheep, goats, and cattle. We hope to add Camels in the near future. You can customize animal profiles to track the specific data points relevant to each species.
Is the app suitable for small farms or only large operations?
Our app is designed to scale with your operation. Whether you have a small hobby farm with a dozen animals or a large commercial operation with thousands of head, the app can accommodate your needs with flexible pricing plans.
How do I on-board animals
We provide an ability to onboard animals as groups or one-by-one. For a group you just need the breed, approximate age and sex to get started, you can add the details later. For individuals its the same or only additional request is for a Tag Number so that we can uniquely identify the individual. If you wish we can provide support to help you on-board the animals, including us physically attending your farm to help you wit this process.
Features and Functionality
What information can I track for each animal?
You can record comprehensive details including identification numbers, birth dates, weaning weight, body condition scoring, weight records, health history, vaccinations, breeding information, lineage, feed and feeding schedules, production records (milk), emissions and custom notes. You can also attach photos and documents to individual animal profiles.
Can I track breeding and reproduction cycles?
Yes, the app will shortly provide robust breeding management features. You can record breeding dates, track gestation periods, receive calving or lambing related reminders, maintain breeding history, track offspring etc. Provide nutritional advice during the breeding cycle to improve fertility and analyze breeding success rates to improve your herd genetics. See conception and miscarraige rates, get reports and insights on the animals who are worst breeders
What farm operations does the app support?
Yes, the application provides a finance module to help to capture your expenses, and you have the freedom to categorise them so you can assess where your biggest costs are. You can can also schedule tasks related to animals, animal groups or just the farm to help you manage your workload better and get reminders. You can also manage you feed inventory to help you better understand the money being spent and which animal groups are costing the most. You can also record animal sales and purchases, so better understand you investments and sales.
Can I generate reports for my livestock data?
Absolutely. The app provides various pre-built reports including herd inventory, animal sales and purchases, mortality etc . You can export them in multiple formats including PDF, CSV, and Excel.
Can I indicate which animals I want to observe closely?
Absolutely, we provide a number of "Tags" for the main areas such as Illness, Pregnancy, Ready to Breed, Ready for Culling, Weaning, Lactating etc.
Technical Support
What devices are compatible with Greener Herd?
Greener Herd is compatible with smartphones running Android 8.0 or later and iOS 12 or later. In the near future we plan to extend this to d desktop and tablets.
Does the app work offline?
The app has some functions that work offline so you can access and update animal records even in areas without internet connectivity. Your data will automatically sync once you're back online, ensuring you never lose important information.
How secure is my livestock data?
We take data security seriously. All information is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We perform regular security audits, maintain secure backups, and comply with industry-standard data protection practices. You maintain full ownership of your data.
What if I need help using the app?
We offer multiple support channels including in-app tutorials, comprehensive documentation, email support, and live chat via whatsapp during business hours. Our team is committed to helping you get the most out of the app.
Can multiple users access the same farm account?
Yes, but they will need to use the same login.
Can I get my data if I leave?
Yes, if you inform us before you delete the account and make a request we can send you the animal record data in csv form.
